The establishment of a safety culture is paramount at AIFA. As aircraft systems and operating environments grow in complexity, the organizational, cultural and human aspects of our aviation industry need to be addressed to ensure continuing improvement in aviation safety.
That is the purpose behind the Safety Management System (SMS) at AIFA.
AIFA has a proud safety record and we intend keeping it that way. We continue to make strides towards improving aviation safety. Our objective is safer skies, ultimately achieved through a proactive and integrated approach to accident prevention.
It is the goal of our SMS to create a positive safety culture where management, all instructors, cadets and personnel continually challenge the processes, the culture and the systems to identify weaknesses and where improvements can be made.
AVIC International Flight Training Academy aims to provide a safe working environment for all employees, clients and students. In order to achieve this goal, the company has implemented procedures to address and ensure flight safety. We believe that most accidents and incidents are preventable and strive to maintain the lowest incident / accident rate possible.
It is the personal conviction of senior management that a safe environment will enable AVIC International Flight Training Academy to achieve economic success and to provide a pleasurable and motivational place to work at. With this in mind, be assured that safety is understood to be a core business function and that the strongest support will be given to any endeavor that is aimed at implementing, supporting or furthering any aspect of safety within the company.
All levels of management and staff are responsible for our safety performance, staring with the Chief Executive Officer and also encompassing the most junior employee in the company. We believe that safety is a source of our competitive advantage and that we will strengthen our business by making safety excellence an integral part of all flight and ground activities. This will be achieved, first and foremost by conducting hazard identification through safety reporting procedures and be further enhanced by safety assurance systems to ensure optimum performance of the system.
To accomplish this, all levels of management will be clearly committed to the Safety Management System, and in particular, hazard identification. Staff will be assured by the following of a “Just Culture” to promote free and open reporting. Safety skills within the organisation will be built on a meaningful basis, with training and leadership skills development being the core. The safety of our employees and customers will be a company strategic objective as determined by safety metrics, objectives and goals.
